Rajni the Brand.. the Icon...the One Man Industry
Kabali

It has shown yet again, that nothing can beat the power of personal brand... the iconic  super star, defying old age creates an aura, gets more than just attention from all over the world, for his movie, KABALI, that was released worldwide, with a humongous fanfare on the Friday that went by. It was frenzy.

STORY : - WHO CARES
CO-ACTORS : - WHO CARES
SCRIPT :- WHO CARES
MUSIC :- WHO CARES
CINEMATOGRAPHY :- WHO CARES
EDITING :- WHO CARES
DIRECTION :- WHO CARES
PEOPLE OF ALL OTHER DEPARTMENTS OF THIS MOVIE MAKING :- WHO CARES
RAJNIKANT DEFIES ALL THAT.
AND THAT'S WHAT IS THE POWER OF AN ICONIC PERSONAL BRAND.

Does anyone have the spine to stand up to him and tell him, Rajni, it was a just another paneer butter masala, run-of-the-mill movie, with neither paneer nor butter, except flavour.

But on the Flip side...
There was an article sometime ago about economics of Kabali, if the movie flops.
I wish to give my views in a different perspective. Many have questioned what Rajini has done to people, did he support when in need etc.,
Let us view this very differently.
Who are the beneficiaries, if the movie succeeds?
Is it only Rajnikanth or the director, who will benefit?
Entire film industry from clap boy, choreographers, technicians, movie theatre ticket boys, car parking token guys etc- every one can feed their family at least for 3 months if it is not an exaggeration. Trying to analyse at the lower rung of the society. Indirectly Popcorn and snacks are selling, no doubt movie theatres/multiplexes make lots of profits but then without buying the basic ingredients who can make snacks or popcorn in theatre, are the lower rungs of society not benefiting from such spending's. Take for instance T Shirts, Creative Artists, Branding companies, Franchises, Including government benefits by taxes, Bus fare, Auto-rickshaw and car drivers pulling their livelihood from the so called mass hype for a movie. Lastly the fans and audience. Is it not a paisa vasool for them seeing the movie as they wait for minimum 1-2 years to seem him on screen. Well even-though it is a short-lived economics, Rajini has contributed to society indirectly.
This is just my opinion.
